#1: Am I too demanding? What is a realistic pay?

Some say salary is confidential because that is your price tag and people just don't want to be valued that way. So, salary is personal I would say. It depends on the lifestyle you are in, and also the demand and supply in the market. There is an average for each position, but it also subject to many factors ie urban vs rural, industry, local company vs MNCs, etc.

Thanks to the internet, we can get some of these data online. Jobstreet.com ask their users to input salary information annually to feedback them the market rate. So, you may do some study before sending your resumes. Here is the link.

Kelly Services publishes their salary guide also every year, and this is the report for 2014. It is a very comprehensive report, the only thing is, not that the data is not updated, but it is not the latest, and not in real time. Anyway, it is a good reference and I don't think there will be any real time salary database in public domain, but if you know any, please do inform me!

And sometimes, you may get this information through online articles like this one does done by MYMenLifestyle.com (2014), gives us an idea of the Top 10 highest starting salary for fresh graduates in Malaysia.

So, once you got the idea how much is the price tag for each position, factor in your lifestyle and that will suggest you an idea of desired salary. Feel free to give your comments.
